How do I keep my Florida CNA license current?

To keep your certified nursing assistant license in Florida, you must renew it every two years. To renew, you must meet some requirements:

Work experience within the last 24 months; you must perform CNA-related services for compensation.

Continuing education: you must complete 24 hours of continuing education. The Florida Board of Nursing site ( floridanursing.gov) has a list of approved In-Service courses for this profession. Some examples of continuing education courses are blood borne pathogens, infection control, resident’s rights, CPR skills, medical error prevention & safety, and more.
